'Finding a Job' is a pick 'n' mix package designed to support schools to enable their post-16 students to identify, research, apply for and secure work in the changing jobs landscape post Covid-19.
The programme is based on the latest research and our up-to-date knowledge of the local job market through our extensive work with employers and access to live vacancies.
Sessions include:
You’ve got what they’re looking for
Identifying your skills linked to the world of work
Fit for the future
Building your resilience, confidence and self-awareness
Getting ahead of the pack
Marketing yourself, networking, using your presentations skills, creating your online profile and using social media effectively
What is out there?
Post-18 options including apprenticeships, employment, sponsored degrees and gap years
Presenting the evidence
Interpreting opportunities, creating tailored personal statements, CVs and written introductions, and developing strategies for successful interviews.
Throughout the programme (face to face or virtually):
- Students will learn about recruitment, personal branding, job opportunities, employer expectations and requirements.
- Students will get the opportunity to develop skills recognised by employers and the tools to get ahead in their preferred occupational areas.
- Our advisers will instil confidence to choose the right progression route or entry into the job market, including apprenticeship applications.
- Our advisers can work with students throughout the application process, from identifying jobs to being interviewed for them, potentially securing their first job.
